To think they are just thrown away..*ah* ;) I like writing my name and the date I bought the book. Inspirational books I have ntoes on, but more over than not I do not write in books. I worry about the book police coming in to check mine. Also, I will not put shoes or a glass or plate on top of books....PJhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00104319952137455099noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9726597.post-13311285806126032882007-11-16T06:37:00.000-06:002007-11-16T06:37:00.000-06:00I think a book that doesn't belong to you should b...I think a book that doesn't belong to you should be left alone. I never really understood why someone would feel it necessary to write in a library book or a book they borrowed from a friend (unless with permission).

I tend to be a preservationist these days, preferring to take notes in a notebook or on sticky notes. Occasionally I might make a small notation in pencil, which can be erased later. I was more free with college text books, but that's an entirely different story.

I think leaving footprints serves a purpose for some readers and I see nothing wrong with it. I would rather read a book without someone else's comments, but then again, sometimes it can be amusing or even special to walk with someone else through a book.Literary Felinehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13079276242303738719noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9726597.post-27330486498781638482007-11-16T05:36:00.000-06:002007-11-16T05:36:00.000-06:00I think non-fiction books beg to be written in -- ...I think non-fiction books beg to be written in -- I take notes and highlight in all of mine.

But not fiction.
